Free Admission to Legacy Sites on MLK Day
01.16.25
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, EJI is offering free admission to the Legacy Sites on Monday, January 20, 2025. The national holiday on Monday celebrates the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and honors his life-long advocacy for civil rights.
The National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum first opened in Montgomery, Alabama, in 2018 and have received international acclaim. In 2022, EJI opened the new Legacy Museum with dramatically expanded content and a world-class art gallery with major works from some of the world’s most celebrated Black artists. Freedom Monument Sculpture Park opened in 2024 to rave reviews.
Each guest who visits the Legacy Sites on Monday will receive a free copy of EJI’s award-winning wall calendar, A History of Racial Injustice, and free admission to all three Legacy Sites.
“We’re excited to welcome visitors and residents of Montgomery to the Legacy Sites in honor of Dr. King and the critical work he launched right here in this city,” said EJI Director Bryan Stevenson. “We think learning and sharing about our history and its legacy is an excellent way to celebrate MLK Day.”
The Legacy Sites will be open on Monday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. No reservations or tickets are required.
